Houseboat Trip on Lake Powell |
***UPDATE***
The AZBurners and
Friends Lake Powell houseboat trip is now Saturday-Friday *July
2-8*.
New, better week. Longer trip, warmer weather, delicious swimming.
Yeah a lot of people go up there for the 4th of July weekend but
we'll head up the lake and back into our favorite canyons. We've
talked about a Burning Boat for years and this one is definitely
happening. I mentioned it to a few friends and the crew of 16 is
mostly full. Maybe a spot or two left, though, since you know how
people's plans change.

clothing optional :-)
We're not gonna burn the boat, but we can have campfires and some
big tumbleweed fires.
Ah, spinning fire on red sand beaches under the stars....
Write for details.

How much? Boat expenses come out to $275 per person.
How many? Maximum of 16.
Who? The trip's open to all AZBurners and friends-of-burners.
If you have out-of-state friends who want to experience some desert
magic, invite them along.
What else? Deluxe boat, big deck with mattresses and dining
on top, water slide off the back, bathrooms with hot showers, gas
BBQ, four bedrooms with queen-size beds for couples, etc.-- the kind
that usually rents for $7000+/week plus a gazillion bucks for gas.
We're getting an extra week on our privately owned boat that nobody
had reserved this year. We'll cruise up the lake until we find a red
sand beach to park on, take kayaks back into slot canyons…. or just
sit on the deck with a cool drink and watch the sunset.
Check out photos on the azburner.org image gallery at
http://gallery.azburners.org/Burning-Boat but they can't
capture the changing panorama of water, canyons and sky up there.
Or the sounds of lapping waves, echoing canyons, me laughing until
it hurts J
We've talked about this for a couple of years, now let's go!
